Designed by Katayoun Dowlatshahi and made by Proto Glass Studios, 2007Reason for highlighting
This work of contemporary architectural glass brings into a secular space the inspiration to be found in the traceries of Exeter cathedral. The cathedral windows were intended as apertures to heavenly bodies and also as focal points for personal contemplation. In this commission Katayoun has brought to a secular space that purity of contemplation; and emphasized the ephemeral nature of light and our relationship to it.
