I remember this window being made in Swansea with a “sandwich” technique of antique glass between two sheets of safety glass. I love the very subtle acid etching in the opal glass and the “floating” quality of the material.
Artist/maker notes
Alexander Beleschenko (b.1951) is a leading architectural glass artist. After study at a number of art schools, his focus on working with glass in architecture was confirmed by a two year period living in Florence, where art and architecture were so clearly interwoven. He went on to study Architectural Stained Glass at Swansea School of Art, 1978-79, before developing an independent career. He has since created a large body of work for public and private spaces both in the UK and around the world.
