Overview
There are a number of artists who have contributed to this website through their individual selections of 10 fine examples of British stained glass windows. While all naturally refrained from recommending their own work in the 10 selected, they have been asked to choose a window of their own that they feel reflects their personal work. This is Rachel Mulligan’s selection.

I am influenced by Medieval art and I particularly love depictions of the Labours of the Months. I wanted to create a contemporary version. At the time I shared an allotment with three friends. The panels tell the story of a year on the ‘Lottie’. I wanted to reflect the social side of gardening, as well as the hard work and bountiful produce. And it revisits one of my favourite themes, the changing seasons.
The panels were purchased by Godalming Museum with help from the V&A in 2014 and I linked the 12 panels with a border and bird roundels.

Those who travel to Godalming Museum to see Rachel’s work will also be able to see a fine Millennium window by Simon Knight.
