Nave south wall window, eastern most bay on the theme of King Saul and DavidArtist, maker and date
Keith New, 1958Reason for highlighting
This exciting window depicting Saul attempting to slay David, shows New at his emphatic painterly best.
It is a lesson in the translation of the work of Art into glass with no loss of energy – in fact gaining a new dynamic. The mark-making in the original charcoal drawing is translated with verve and assurance.
A real treat for connoisseur and student alike.
