Designed by Johannes Schreiter and made by Rodney Bender and the Glass Department of Swansea College of Art, c.1980Reason for highlighting
As a student from 1984 to 1987 I walked past this window every day, the first time I saw it I knew this is what I wanted to do. I think it is inspiring and beautiful.
Artist/maker notes
Johannes Schreiter (b.1930) had won numerous prizes for work in painting and engraving and had established a reputation as a major graphic artist before designing glass for architecture. Since when his powerfully graphic abstract forms, combined with pioneering techniques have contributed to opening up a new world of possibilities for all stained glass artists.

Other comments
The College is supportive of those wishing to see the window. However, for security reasons the building has restricted access, so ringing ahead to arrange access is recommended.
