Cathedral Church of the Holy Spirit, Stag Hill, Guildford GU2 7UPTheme
Overview
The predominantly clear glazing chosen by the cathedral architect, Sir Edward Maufe, is enhanced by his use of hand-made antique reamy glass and selected coloured panels by some of the finest post-war artists – sometimes less is definitely more.
Amongst the many artists are several examples of the work of Lawrence Lee, Moira Forsyth and William Wilson, together with a fine Charterhouse window by Rosemary Rutherford, 1955.

Mark Angus, 1989Reason for highlighting
“Service” by Mark Angus is located high up on the south side of the chancel. Donated by Surry County Council to mark its centenary in 1989, it is a fine example of the style of one of the most prominent and respected stained glass artists of his generation.
The window depicts Christ breaking bread on the left and Christ blessing Mary as she washes his feet on the right.
