Clare Hartwell

Clare Hartwell completed an MA in architectural history at Manchester University, before working for the Victorian Society and subsequently on a variety of projects, mainly in the North West of England. She went on to revise several volumes in Pevsner’s Buildings of England series, most recently that covering Nottinghamshire. Her interest in stained glass grew in the course of her work, which gave her the opportunity to visit so many churches and other buildings containing stained glass.
