Norman McLeod MacDougall (1851/2-1937) attended the Glasgow School of Art before moving to London, where he worked for Daniel Cottier for 16 years as a glass painter and designer. With Cottier he worked on many notable projects including Cairndhu House, Helensburgh (1872). On his return to Glasgow in 1887 he worked with J & W Guthrie before establishing his own studio in 1894.
