Waugh, Sep

Sep Waugh FMGP (1936-2015) was a designer and glass painter of York. He displayed a particular aptitude for art at school and this ultimately resulted in him becoming apprenticed to Harry Stammers, who would be a major influential on his own style. His figures were always finely drawn and he painted his windows with great care and delicacy. Shading was clearly defined and angular and never three-dimensional. Waugh’s work can be seen across the north of England, as well as occasionally further south.
