Paul Lucky (1946-2015) and his partner Susan Bradbury FMGP (b.1960) met at Swansea School of Art (Stained Glass) in the 1970’s. They moved to Ayrshire and set up Glencairn Studio (Stained Glass Design Partnership), which became one of the finest studios in Scotland, for design, restoration, and conservation of stained glass.

The image opposite shows one of three windows by Oscar Paterson, that were rescued from the Church of St Bride in Rosevale Street, Partick, prior to its demolition, and placed in the vestry of Hyndland Parish Church. In 1988 Paul Lucky was asked to create a fourth window in the same idiom. The Latin inscriptions at the base are for the Paterson window, Labore ipse Voluptas – Work itself is pleasure, and for Paul Lucky’s window, Super hanc Petram Aedifcabo – On this rock shall I build. The other two panels by Paterson are on his Artist page.
